Cabot Physiotherapy offers specialized care in Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy. Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy is a type of therapy used to treat problems of the inner ear associated with poor balance, vertigo and dizziness. The goal of treatment is to minimize dizziness, improve balance, and prevent falls by restoring normal function of the vestibular system.
Our therapists have completed specialized Vestibular Rehabilitation courses to help determine the cause of your vertigo/dizziness and how best to treat it. Your therapist will perform manual therapy and/or design an exercise program to promote the brain to adapt to and compensate for whatever is causing the vertigo.
Many vestibular conditions are improved with vestibular rehabilitation physiotherapy, these include:
- Inner ear infections
- Post-traumatic vertigo (such as after a car accident)
- Vestibular neuritis
